Hello friends and readers! It has been awhile and shame on me!
Time to get back on the road after a few months of bad luck and unhealthy choices and FUN!.... too much! Back at Labor Day I had a tailbone injury and it basicaly halted my exersise. I swam a few times but even walking up our hill hurt like mad. That along with not folllowing my plan and taking an awesome trip to Mexico at an all inclusive resort( drinks, more drinks and more drinks and food food food AND Desserts up the wazoooo AND Thanksgiving, I am feeling quite stuffy and fluffy! Time for this girl to get back on the wagon! Yesterday I began my rabbit food diet and suprisingly it went very well! Today , day 2 has been going well also. I know the Holidays are going to be tuff, that being said..my goal is to stay on the straight and narrow up until Christmas so I can have a little fun with some treats and cocktails. So my Christmas colors are infact Green and Red! Lettuce and Tomatoes my friends! SO that being said, to all my friends, bare with me if I do not go out to dinner with you or meet for cocktails...it is time for this girl to work on herself again. How easy it is to fall off the path and actually feel it..OH I feel it alright! I am no where close to where I was a year ago and I never want to go back to that EVER! but I would like to feel good like I did in June, July and August! The clothes still fit, just a bit snug! So here we go folks! onward!
Thank you for your support and reading !
All my love, K

2 month post diet update!
Well ..I haven't posted in a long time..time to write. Doing the blog keeps me in check with myself and sharing with you all somehow keeps me in check also!:-) so thank you for taking the time to read!
On June 15th I met with the dietician for a maintenance plan. My total weight loss was 78 pounds and my goal was to maintain and hopefully lose another 15 pounds or so. So I met with Becky and she told me 2200 calories to maintain without exercise. That is really a lot of calories. I struggled at first and went up and down and decided maybe 2200 was too many and should stick to 1500 to 1800. That seemed to work much better along with exercise . I truly believe exercise is key to any type of weight loss. I had my days of splurges here and there...getting the GiGis cupcakes off my bucket list was a biggie. That place is killer and with each cupcake at 750 calories each...doesn't leave much for the rest of the day .but I did manage to try a few different cupcakes and get that out of my system....funny thing is before I went on this diet, I never seemed to care much for cakes and cupcakes. NOW I feel obsessed over-this darn store. I took a night out and had several drinks and shots;-) ( thanks mike and Darcie ) after that weekend I Freaked out because I gained 4 pounds! I quickly got back to the grind And got the 4 pounds off again..must have been a Lot of water and sodium my body hadn't seen in a long time. It was fun to let lose and live a little although. I really learned though that this is a TOTAL lifestyle change and that any disruption will totally change the results.
So for the past almost 2 months I have been living a pretty normal diet. Like I had mentioned..trying a few flavors of cupCakes, going out to dinner..ect ect. Just 2 weeks ago I totally got offtrack as we took a tripTo North Carolina and we ate out everyday and I did no exercise at all..one day I did runaround the block 2 times, but almost died in the humidity And heat of NC...I decided that I wasn't going to count calories and just have a vacation frOm everything! ..well...BIG MISTAKE! I was in denial from stepping on the scale when i returned home , I just knew I blew it..but then I just hopped on and my intuition was right.. I gained 6 pounds! :-( so I am defiantly back to the grind this week ...sweating my butt of in this heat to get back to where I was at least! On Sunday I took off on my 5 mile path and got about half way through and had to call Gerry to come get me. I didn't realize the heat index was over 100 and I had left with no water. Not smart! I certainly wasn't feeling so good! But anyway, so far so good and the scale is moving back down to the right direction. With my trip to MexIco coming up i November, this scares me At how quickly you can go backwards. I will have to starve for a month afterwards!:-)
Just a side note about our vacation. We had a wonderful time visiting with Josh and Deanna and Reagan in NC. On our way home, we stopped in Pigeon Forge..where Dollywood is. We didn't get to go to Dollywood as we were just passing through. We did manage to see a country show in the evening called country tonite which was pretty neat.Genna met a little cutie in the show that could sing like no other. His mom asked if she could take gennas picture with Skyler for his fan page on facebook. She is on there so if your bored check out Skyler McAllister fan page on facebook. Pigeon forge is like a Dells x 20. Tons todo I want to go back someday. I don't think Gerry feels the same. :-p maybe girls trip in store.
So in closing... I am back to my low calorie days and 5 mile walks! Just another speed bump..but we are back on track!
Hope you all are enjoying what is left of the summer....I sure am! Stay cool!

3 weeks into transition and all is great!
Went to see the good doctor yesterday for a midway transition appointment. It was predicted that I would gain 3 pounds back with the introduction of all the foods I have been eating. I was pretty bummed at the thought of gaining no matter what so i hid my scale so i could be in denial.hehehe! When i went to my appointment to my surprise, I lost 1 pound instead of gaining 3 ! Happy happy happy about that. He asked if i was exercising which I do faithfully and he said it Showed with the loss of a pound and now I would start losing again. So all good news there. I see the dietician next Wednesday to set up a long term goal to maintain / lose a few more pounds. I am so excited to have some flexibility with diet. Today I am eating lean meats and salads, fruits( bananas, apples and berries mostly). I totally love the light and fit yogurts. They are only 80 calories and very good. Toasted coconut vanilla is my favorite. I started yesterday on breads and fats so a peanut butter bagel thin was a big big treat! I feel pretty comfortable with the transition so there may be a day I might just have a lean cuisine for something different. I am expecting a 1500 to 1800 calorie diet so I think I know what to do. I watched some guy on Rachel Ray yesterday talking about keeping your diet limited to 15 grams of sugar a day and 6 servings of carbs a day for weight loss. I may look into something like that but everything has sugar so this could be hard!
On a sad note, I went 3 weeks without my blood pressure meds. When I was on the lowest dose my pressure was too low but off the meds, the pressure did creep back up..not horrible but enough to make the decision to go back on them! I am pretty bummed about this because it was one of my proudest moments to get rid of those! I knew it was possible although that I may have to go back on them. I have taken them for over 22 years and it is very hereditary in my family. Not the worst but just a bummer!
So my new thing is searching the Internet for ideas for a low calorie diet plan. I am sure the dietician will help with that also but it is kind of fun to look for ideas! If you have any cool recipes or ideas..please share!
Summer is here guys! Yaaaaay! Bring on the heat! LOL the air is on!

THE ROAD HAS BEEN LONG BUT IS WINDING DOWN!
So what a day today was. WOW! I was full of anxiety all day long anticipating my doctor appointment. I am nearing the end of this wonderful diet and was just a ball of nerves knowing that today could be the day I start my transition to "real " real food. I say real food because since January 11th..the day I started this little journey, I have eaten only what was on the the plan and a small amount of salad a few times a week. I have lived on protien shakes, soups, pretzels, oatmeals, pancakes and some pastas that are very small and have something in them to resemble beef. I have had protien bars that are actually VERY GOOD! They are like a candy bar for me! :-) way to cure the sweet tooth. There were other different food items I was able to order but these were the main ones I have lived off of! The "transition" , something I have been dreaming about is basically adding a new food each week for 6 weeks and then after the 6 weeks, I meet with a dietician to make a plan for a healthy and calorie suitable diet for maitinence and continued good health. NOw although I have been dreaming of that day as the first food introduced back is MEAT! ahhh a grilled chicken breast..even a lean burger , maybe some shrimp? oh boy.....well that day has indeed arrived TODAY!!!!!! I am a nervous wreck to stop doing what I have been doing. It has worked and I NEVER WANT TO GO BACK. I am nervous about not feeling so good after eating food . I dont know...just nervous..this has become a part of my life now for just 41/2 months.
TODAY WAS MY BIGGEST WEIGHT LOSS IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD EVER! TODAY THE SCALE SMILED AT ME BIG TIME WITH A WEIGHT LOSS OF 10 POUNDS! THIS MADE ME CRY!
This Brings my total weight loss to a wopping 77.5 pounds! UNREAL is all I can say! I am just so happy and feel sooooo good! Today this feels like it all went by so fast. I KNOW that it didnt seem fast as I was going through it! I still have work to do as I go through transition. Exersise is key. That being said, the back is pretty much back to good and I can go back to the treadmill and all the other things I was doing before. I did get some exersises for the back he said I just need to do everyday!
So what can I expect during transition? Well for one I will probably gain a few pounds while re introducing food. These pounds are the water pounds you lose in the beginning so quickly. basically the body is re- hydrating even though it gets over 100 ounces of water today. yes, i do drink that much! It is habit for me now and I just have to have it with me all the time! But after that I can expect to lose around 6 more pounds he thought through out the 6 weeks. I am not gonna quit and maintain tho.. I want to keep going and stick to a low cal diet and maybe shed a bit more..believe me..there is more to go! So I am guessing it will be a 1500 calorie diet for me after the 6 weeks! I googled a 1500 menu plan for a healthy 1500 calorie diet and it looked to be a feast compared to what I have been eating! I am excited!
So today the news was good that this journey is coming to a close so to speak..the ruff stuff is over anyway!
AND ANOTHER BIG NEWS TO REPORT..MAYBE EVEN THE MOST IMPORTANT IS....
AS OF TODAY , AFTER 22 YEARS ON BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION..I AM OVER JOYED TO SAY I NO LONGER AM TAKING ANY BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION! GONE GONE GONE! THE ONLY MED I NOW TAKE IS MY THYROID MED! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!
So today was pretty darn good ! Life is good! and to honestly think what 77.5 pounds felt like is just crazy to me....just think what might weigh that much ? so next goal ? hmmmmm 100 might be pushing it...but maybe 90 ? I will keep you all posted for sure! Thank you all for your support wether you are a blog follower or my dearest facebook friends! You have no idea the help you have been with all your cheers and well wishes for my success! I truly believe this blog has helped me through! So THANK YOU ALL!!! FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF MY HEART! Speed bumps!
Back to the doctor yesterday and it was bittersweet! I will start with the sweet...
I LOST ANOTHER 9 POUNDS!! Bringing my total weight loss thus far to 67 pounds! Just 3 pounds away from my initial goal of 70 pounds!
The bitter part is a couple of things..
1. My back is out..ouch! Not sure what I actually did but Saturday after running on the treadmill I came home and didn't feel so good and it actually got worse over the weekend. So in the clinic yesterday, I had some X rays done to make sure all was ok and it was. He said I just strained my back and gave me some muscle relaxers and naproxin and vicodin if needed. He also took me off exercise for 2 weeks which really sucks because obviously that is a HUGE part of the weight loss. But I do need to heal my back so basically this is just a speed bump in this journey!
2. Yesterday I was hoping to meet my goal but came away 3 pounds shy. This would have had me starting the transition to real food. Which is a gradual introduction to real food and planning a low calorie diet with my dietician. My doctor did tell me that I could start the transition but he didn't think I would be happy. He explained that when we re introduce food that it is very normal to gain 3 to 4 pounds of water weight..like the stuff you lose fast initially. So that would have even put me farther away from my goal. I decided if i have done it this long , what's another few weeks?! I want to do this and feel good about finishing..even though the thought of some chicken just kiiiiiilllllllls me! Protien( lean meats are the first foods introduced back in the diet)
So the next few weeks will be interesting to see how I fair not exercising! I am really going to miss going to the gym. I have really come to enjoy it. I got an ipod shuffle and put some good rocking tunes on it...some times on the treadmill I just wanna dance and sing ..lmao! I need some new tunes..any suggestions guys? Hehe! I was actually pushing myself some and got up to 26 minutes running on the treadmill! I would have never believed I could do
that EVER!
On a super great note, Gerry and i booked our November vacation this week. We are so excited to be going to Mexico. We got an awesome deal at a Dreams Resort & Spa in Cancun for 8 days! I cannot wait! It will be nice to go and not feel like a big blob on the plane and quite possibly wear a swim suit and feel ok? Will never feel super great but will settle for ok.
I am very excited for a very good friend of mine is starting this diet this week! I am very excited for her and look forward to helping her along the way! This is not a life long thing..only a jump start to leading a healthy diet and lifestyle . I have heard comments from people that have said things like.." I hope she doesn't gain it back" well duh! I hope so too...if you have your mind set on good health that shouldn't happen. I am sure I will have some bad days just like everyone else in the world but hey I am here for the long haul. I don't want to go back to my old habits ..this is a new me and I am here to stay!
Happy spring(I think) ..can we please have some nice weather?
Thank you for reading my friends!

The light at the end of the tunnel is shining bright!
I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Hurray! I think i was skipping out of the doctors office today. I went in this afternoon to have some stitches removed and while there we discussed the plan for the rest of my diet. I have 12 pounds left to lose to reach my initial goal! I have lost 58 pounds this far so 12 more measly pounds would get me to my goal. He cancelled my bi weekly appointment and said to see him in 3 weeks and we would begin the transition to some real food! Haha! I have read some about the transition which takes 6 weeks and it basically just introduces foods a little at a time as the digestive tract has been pretty dormant for the last 4 months. I know that then first week of transition I get 5 ounces of lean meat a day along with some salad..oh how I have dreamed of meat! LOL! A yummy chicken breast on the grill is defiantly in my plan! So then each week something new is introduced and supplements are taken away. I am so ready to be normal again and live life on the healthy path! We talked about the splurge today too..like how I am gonna have a couple beers and a big juicy burger when the time comes... Doc was pretty cool about all that and basically said to make up for it in exercise and calorie intake the next day. Sounds like a deal to me! I mentioned weight watchers as maintenance to continue and I thought doc was gonna have a heart attack! The hair on the back of his head just might have stood up..heheheh...I guess he thinks weight watchers is not the answer but working with my dietician is..A OK for me! So this whole outlook to be done with this part of the diet has got me pumped excited and ready to work hard to make it happen....look out..here I come!
Hugs to all..and thank you for reading my journey!

Big fat smiley face!
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...Wait no... I know I can! And I will, just watch me!
Clothes and inches and wedding ring!
Last week I got rid of every single piece of clothing that I used to wear except my baggy t shirts to wear to the gym! Kinda crazy to look at that and then really realize how much my body had indeed changed! I found a t shirt that Gerry had bought me a long time ago and couldnt even sqeeze into and now..walllla..its is loose ! Look out mall..here I come! :-)
I had forgot to mention in my last blog that when I went to see Stephanie..she did the measurements of my body..as of today I have lost a total of 25.5 inches all over my body! The sad part of all that is I can not wear my wedding ring anymore. I had to put it away. I will have to go next week and have it resized. Although I still wanna drop another 25 pounds or so...give or take..maybe I should just wait a bit! I really miss my wedding ring! maybe I should go get a band or something! :-) happy happy happy ...till next time....
peace out ! ~ K

12 weeks and still alive and 7 pounds lighter
Just got home from my 12 week check up. 7 seems to be the magic number! I lost another 7 pounds. Wheeeeeeew! I was nervous. I thought it would be more like 5 pounds. But yaaaaaay for 7! that brings total weight loss to 55 pounds. 15 pounds to go to my initial goal!
I joined Saras gym last week and have actually been getting up at 4:30 to exercise. It has felt good but by the end of the day I am beat! I have been mainly doing the treadmill and just starting to jog a little bit (2 minutes) lol. I have had some achy hips and calves this week! Yesterday I had an appointment with Stephanie my sports physiologist. I did my treadmill test and that went very well. She said I was in very good shape for a 44 year old lady . She had to keep upping the treadmill speed to get my heart rate where it needs to be. Sooooo I guess I need to step it up at the gym and get my heart beating faster!
Today at my appointment I also had an sebaceous cyst removed from my backside lol. It was kinda big and starting to get infected so it had to go! It was as big as my tip of my pinky finger ughghgh! I have a few stitches and will probably feel a little owie later . So a llll good ..glad to have gotten this appointment out of the way!
I am thinking another 4 weeks on this diet and i will start the transition to normal food. I really want to work hard now and turn that 7 into maybe 8 9 or 10! I am hoping anyway but won't be disappointed if it is 7 again! I have them mind set right now that if I can do this, i can do anything. I look forward to real food and counting calories and staying faithful to my exercise! I will never go back to my old habits ! EVER!
Happy spring to you all and thank you again for reading and your support!

NO PAIN NO GAIN
Great news! Gerry and I along with Kell Bell joined the gym! Gerry decided to join the band wagon and start going to the gym so we all joined! I went this morning with a friend and we walked on the treadmill. I wanted to do some ab work because I have been losing in my upper and lower body but still seem to have alot of squish in the middle. So my friend Angela:-) showed me some of the ab exercises she knew . I learned alot but I wanted to cry because I could not do a freaking sit up! So I guess I have work to do! I felt like I have been working so hard in the pool and doing pretty good..well today was a bit of a slap for me! Sooooo much more I should be doing! No pain no gain has much truth! There was a girl in the gym that was working with a personal trainer and boy she was kicking ass and sweating! A bit of a wake up call for this chick to step it up! Kyle is coming home today and I am sending him to target to get me an exercise ball so i can start shaping up the gut! Trying hard to turn the frustration into something positive! Boy this is lots of work! NO PAIN NO GAIN RIGHT?
Hope everyone is having a great day...looking forward to some nice weather soon!

10 weeks is a long time!
10 week check up! Another 7 pounds gone! That is a total of 48 pounds...just 2 little pounds away from 50 and 22 pounds away from my initial goal! Pretty much same old same same old for everything ....hitting the pool every weekend and still staying strong to the no cheat rule! Some days My evil witch talks loudly in my head but the good witch keeps her senses and gives the evil witch the big fat middle finger! LOL
I actually had a first the other day. I was walking along and said hello to an old neighbor that I hadn't seen in awhile. She smiled and said hello and didn't recognize me at first! Heheh! That seems funny to me because I don't see that much difference in looks but it was a feel good moment anyway!
Well that is it for now! Can old man winter just please disappear? Bring on spring please!
Thank you all! XOXOXO. ~. K

Week 8 update
Well friends..we are still chugging along on this journey! Not always easy and sometimes just a pain in the ass! It is sooo easy to be unhealthy! This being healthy is hard work and sacrifice. I wouldn't trade it for the world compared to the great feeling of being healthy! I am feeling better all the time!
I just came from my doctor appointment with my awesome doctor (Dr.Partello) :-) this was my 8 week appointment. Since my last appointment 2 weeks ago, I lost another 7.5 pounds. I was hoping for at least 6 pounds and was extremely happy with 7.5! This brings the total weight loss to 41.5 pounds! Just think what might weigh 41 pounds and what 41 pounds of fat would look like! GROSS!
Short and sweet this time! Eat a cheeseburger for me because I would kill for one right now..that and a beer! So you can have one of those for me too! :-)
Thank you sooooo much for reading and all your support and kind words..it is truly keeping me motivated! I am blessed to have each and everyone of you!

PART 2 of week 6. Update
PART 2 of the 6 week check up
I went to the sports physiologist today for some tests to just see how the exercise part of the program is going. I learned today that of the 34 pounds I have lost 1 pound was water, 1 pound was muscle(which she said is totally good and normal) and the rest was fat. I kinda raised my eye at losing muscle because it really feels like I am gaining muscle but she said that a lot of people on the program lose more muscle.
The second part of the visit today was body measuring! Fun fun! I was measured every inch in
December so results are...as of today I have lost 15 inches..THAT IS JUST NUTS !!
The bad news for today , I was kind of bummed about. I have written about the liver enzymes in the previous blog. I was really hoping that yesterdays blood draw would come back with even better numbers but they for some crazy reason that we don't know , they went up. They are still down from day one but I was hoping for them to normalize. It would make a difference in how many supplements I need to eat. Some days it is hard to get the right amount in. For reasons I do not understand, when you have liver issues, you have to have extra calories.
If there is anyone that is seriously interested in losing a significant amount of weight, I highly recommend this. Doing what I am doing is not forever..I view it as a jump start to learning to live a healthy life style.
Didn't think I would be blogging again so soon but I didn't know i was going to be measured today! I think this will be fun to read this all a year from now! So sorry for making you read yet more of my blah blah blah! :-) thanks tho!

Another great week! Woo hooo..half way to my goal!
Jumping with joy for this girl tonight! Just came home from my doctor appointment. I just finished week 6! I have lost another 9 pounds. It was utter amazement because I haven't been cracking to whip to exercise this last week . Whenever school is closed that means the pool is closed also and that makes me grumpy! Swim is my getaway and favorite exercise and I feel like I have worked hard! I got a treadmill from my friend Darcie this week so that has also kept me busy. I stopped for awhile going to classes at flex appeal. Gerry has been on the road and its hard to get back and get girls going for school and get myself ready for kids so I am gonna work with my treadmill and stick to the pool for awhile.
The other great news is my blood pressure has been consistently 120/78. For the past few weeks! My body has got to be in freaking shock. I can't honestly say when my blood pressure has ever been that low. Not only the blood pressure was better but I also had some nasty elevated liver levels and they have dropped by half..like they were 80 and now they are 40 sooo good good good news! It feels so good to be much healthier. I just wanted to say that I was not a depressed unhappy chubby person. My main reason for doing this was all based on health..so that just makes me all happy inside. I will say it is also feeling pretty good that my clothes are not fitting me anymore. I went last weekend to get at least 1 pair of jeans. I didn't have much luck and didn't buy any. I don't want to buy too much as I am still looking to get another 35 pounds off. Summer shopping will be fun..I am excited!
Tomorrow I have a physical assessment with my sports physiologist . I am sure she will put me to the test. I better get rested up for that one.
So the final verdict thus far is
Week 1 13 lbs
Week 2 5 pounds
Week 4 7 pounds
Week 6 9 pounds!
Total loss of 34 Nasty ass pounds
I would kill for a burger and a beer..I soo miss my Friday night bloody marys but IT IS TOTALLY worth it for the feeling good part.
The protien bars and the pretzels are good and I have figured out if i make my chocolate
Shakes into hot chocolate by adding more water and heat it and top it off with coffee..it is
actually a good little cappuccino. It is no fun but tolerable I guess. i have been bit crabby lately but I am gonna try not to be such a crab lol
I am going to go celebrate with my girls tonight at scrap club! I can never say it enough..I am so thankful for your support and taking the time to read my story! Love you all!
Till next time!

Happy Valentines Day
Ahhhhhh Happy Valentines Day my friends! As much as I would love a big box of goooooey chocolates...I started my day out with a good workout with Angel at Flex Appeal! My leggies feel like a bowl of jello and my tummy too! Although I can't always keep up ( someday I will) I really had my heart racing and had an awesome workout! It is a great feeling to start the day and have that feeling of accomplishment. Tonight I am back at the pool! Getting stronger and stronger in the pool each week! I have gotten so I can do 20 laps in a row without drowning! Lol swimming is by far my most favorite form of exercise. I even ordered a new swimsuit last week..a speedo! Lol
I will not return to the doctor for another week now. I am going back every other week for appointments. Had some blood drawn last week. Havnt heard anything back so I will assume no news is good news! Still keeping an eye on the thyroid numbers. The numbers last time weren't exactly where he wanted them but wanted to hold off upping the meeds with the continued weight loss! They are also specifically looking at liver functions. This can be hard on the liver . My liver was already showing nasty numbers so that is always something to worry about. If the liver numbers get worse, I would have to stop the diet and then I am not sure what...I assume add more calories. My hope is that with weight loss around the organs, the liver will be smiling!
Happy Valentines everyone! Please eat an extra chocolate for me :-) I will actually have Some chocolate today...the protein bars I eat have chocolate in them and are actually pretty good. That helps as i don't have the chocolate cravings..what I do crave is meat!
Thanks for reading and have a great day! XOXOXO

Thirteen plus five plus seven!
Equals 25 !
I just got back from the doc! 7 more pounds down. I hate to even admit because I know it is good but I was a little disappointed . I have been working sooooo hard and eating absolute crap, it feels like it should be coming off faster. I feel good and am starting to feel it in my clothes so i know all is good.
So this week in the pool I have been really pushing myself to beat my record if you wanna call it a record. I actually got up to 20 laps in a row without stopping( except for the dumb lady that swam over in my lane and I had to stop for a second to let her dog paddle past me..lmao) but I did do a total of 40 laps last night. I was soooo tired last night when I got home I didn't even put my pjs on..slept in my clothes . Geeez huh ? I have had some trouble sleeping at night also. I am waking up around 3 am wide awake. So I get up..get on my iPad and about the time I doze back off it's time to get back up. Frustrating!
So the next doctor visit is in 2 weeks! I have been doing this almost 1 month ( 4 weeks yesterday). I am still alive and am proud to say I have NOT cheated once! This is probably the hardest commitment I have ever in my life undertaken .
Thank you all for reading and all your support..it means more than you know and truly helps keep me going on this craziness!
Ps... Proud to be a cheesehead ey ? Woooo hoooooo packers!

SOOOOOO FREAKING EXCITED !!!
OK , I am sooo freaking pumped, I just had to blog!
I bought a pair of jeans at Christmas time and I got the wrong size. I couldnt come close to zipping them up. by like 2 inches! I thought about grabbing the tags and taking them back, but I had already ripped the tags off so i decided to put them in a drawer knowing I was starting my weight loss in January and figuring they would eventualy fit! So this morning upon looking for something to wear I decided to try those badboys on . They freaking zipped right up and even had some room! I wanted to do cartwheels! LMAO! I am even more pumped up and eager to work harder now! With this giddyness and the fact that the Packers are in the Superbowl today..I am just one ball of excitement ! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I go to the doc on Wednesday for a 2 week appointment...till then....GO PACK GO!!!!!

Snowstorms suck!
Snow days suck when your on a diet! I just wanna bake cookies and make soup AND eat it! Haha..that would be a no no ! Plus I missed my swim last night as everything was closed! Watching CSI marathon isn't burning too many calories!i am just hoping I burned enough shoveling today..wow..did we ever get a load of snow! It got scary when the power went out. Thank god it came back on pretty quick! I am thankful for all those alliant workers who had to brave the storm and get us back and running!
I would like to get a zumba DVD or maybe for the wii? Does anybody know of anything out there that is good? I have heard from several that the. X box kinnect thing is pretty cool but we won't be buying that anytime soon. Any info would be great!
Happy snow all..stay warm and be safe out there!

Week 2 update
Well this afternoon I went back to my doctor for the big weigh in! I get so darn nervous and axious about these days. It has been 6 days since my last appointment. As I said last week I lost 13 in the first week. I know that not every week will be big numbers like that. I am not living on the biggest loser ranch although I felt like it this morning at flex appeal with ms. angel! Her workout kicked my ass. I know I will have some sore legs and booty tomorrow for sure! So back to the numbers, in 6 days I lost another 5 pounds. I am very happy with that number. It sure make all this hard work worthwhile. I won't return to the doctor now again for 2 more weeks.
This last weekend I decided to be the good wife and accompany my husband down to 2 brothers and be social...well I have to say it totally sucked! Sitting there all night sucking on my water. Gerry had a big ol cod dinner and even though I didn't have the urge to cheat, it was absolutely no fun at all to sit and watch him eat that! Then on Saturday morning I woke up feeling absolutely dizzy as hell. I had to lay down most of the day. I kind of thought it was from the doc changing my blood pressure meds. He had cut the pill in half coincidently when the dizzies came on. I then went back to my old dose and felt better on Sunday. Well today at my appointment my blood pressure was still nice and low 120/78 which is just nuts. I don't think it has ever been that low. So anyway,we are gonna try and cut it in half again and hope I don't get dizzy.
So that is the scoop folks....5 pounds. I like to think about what 5 pounds of hamburger look like..yuck! Good riddance you 5 nasty pounds..I am ready to kick some more next time..till then.....peace out friends and thank you again for all your support!

Re flux/ heartburn.....blood pressure
I just wanted to share that I would get re flux/ heartburn almost every night. It would be so bad I slept with a big bottle of tums next to my bed. Sometimes I would be up for a couple of hours at night in agony. Well since I have started this program/ diet/ life change, I have not had to take 1 single tums! In addition to this, I used to take 2 blood pressure pills a day and have done so for 20 years. As of today and only 10 days into this, I have stopped 1 blood pressure pill and doc has cut my other one in half. I am amazed and feel great!
Ps...speaking of tums..have you seen that commercial from tums where the chicken wing is slapping the guy in the face? Cracks me up
Have a great weekend all! ~ K

Who ever said 13 was an unlucky number?
Yes!!! That's right 8 days into my weight loss and I have lost a whopping 13 pounds. I was so happy I almost cried. My doctor said, " holy cow woman ! You are rocking". I was so excited! All this hard work is paying off! I don't expect to lose that much every week. The initial first couple of weeks it comes off the easiest!
By no means has this last week been easy! I made it through my husband cooking fried onions and burgers on Saturday and all those smells..Kelly decided to make cookies the other day and it was the smell that stuck in my head and kinda bit a little! The shakes I need to drink are kinda gross. The vanilla ones are just nasty to me. My doctor told me to mix the shake up like normal and add diet orange slice pop or diet root beer and he swears that is good. So I will be trying that next. I do like the berry yogurt smoothies though so I am sure those will get me through.
Along with being faithful to my lap swim, I have ventured out with my friend Sally and tried a step class..wow..am I ever a klutz. Just when I got the hang of a step motion..she would go on to a more difficult step lol. I was pretty pooped out when I got home and sore! We did some stretches as well. I will welcome the pool this evening! We also dusted off the wii fit the other day..that is pretty fun too!
Well on to my next week. I will return to the doc next Wednesday. So till then..back to the grind!
Again, many thanks to all my friends and cheerleaders! It certainly does help keep me motivated! Kicking this diabetes's a$$ to the curb folks!

Day 4 update
Well today is Friday and day 4...I am surviving and haunt chewed any limbs off yet! The first couple days were the worst. I felt agitated and nervous. My body had to be craving fats or carbs or something. I didn't like feeling that way. Here is what a day entails for me
Am protein shake
Cinn oatmeal
Lunch protein shake
Chicken veg soup
Snack BBQ styraphomish like snacks lol
Dinner protein shake
Peanut butter bar protein bar. I like these
And snack was jalepeno honey mustard pretzel
Day 2. Am shake
Veg omlet
Lunch.
Shake
Peanut butter bar
Snack white cheddar styraphomish snacks..not so good
Dinner. Shake
Tomato sauce n chicken ( not sure it was really chicken tho)
Day 3 am. Strawberry smoothies. (good)
Veg omelet
Lunch. Shake
Chicken soup n pretzels
Snack. Strawberry protein bar
Dinner. Shake
Tom n chicken
It is ok I guess...the food is very small portions and not so tasty..it is tolerable . I have to plan ahead to make sure I am eating the correct amounts according to the plan and figure out what combos satisfy the hunger. I know this is working according to the scale already. I will let you all know the 1 week results when I go to my 1 week appointment next week.
In addition to the food part of this I have been faithful to my exercise. I have been to the pool 3 days this week and have been on my bike and doing the wii just dance..lol. Let me tell you, that is a workout and the kids just love it....I think they are laughing at me haha! One of the songs on the just dance game is monster mash and they keep asking for more monster mash lol...
It is amazing how even though i hAve been pretty sore and pooped out. That I feel good after swimming and all. Today my legs and hips are sore. I spent a little more time in the pool last night so that is probably why. Maybe there will come a day when I can actually wear
sleeveless shirts in the summer and not worry about chubby arms!
So Friday is here and Of course we all love Fridays. I will have to figure out some weekend fun that doesn't revolve around food and alcohol. Funny how all our social stuff does revolve around those 2 things..we r either out for dinners or lunches or sitting at the bar drinking my favorite and very missed bloody marys. :-( tear tear and my miller lites.
On a last note thank you to all my friends for the support..this is defiantly a huge change and not easy and I could not do it alone. Thank you thank you all!

Ready or not...here I come!
1-11-11.... What a great day to begin! Yes..I have begun! Finally after battling the flu and finally getting my food ordered and here..today is the day. I started my day with my first protein shake. I had plans on putting that vanilla shake in my morning coffee as I do enjoy my coffee with cream and figured that might be good....ahhhhh not so much! These shakes might just end up a big chug to get it over with and I will have to learn to drink my coffee black! I had cinnamon oatmeal for breakfast and that was good..not fantastic but good and that I can handle. I am hoping the chocolate shake at lunch is a little better. In addition to that I will be having creamy chicken soup. For a snack I will be snacking on a peanut butter bar and fir dinner..havnt decided yet..see how the day goes. I have a box of different foods to choose from with various value points so I have to keep track of how many points I use. Careful not to go over but also as important to get enough in.
Last week I started swimming with my friend Angie. The first night I was exhausted and sore. Last night I felt sore and worked but it was a good feeling. Back to the pool tonight! Ready or not....here I come..I know I can do this!

Happy New Year!
A very short post...went to the doc today for my final appointment before I begin my weight loss program. I am doing what is called a VLCD (very low calorie diet) it is basically a high protein fast. I eat 7 to 9 supplements a day..the supplements consist of shakes, puddings, oatmeals, bars, soups, pretzels and various snacks, a few entrees are also available...Alfredo pasta, tomato and chicken pasta..there is a wide variety to choose from. I have to eat at minimum 7 a day along with a butt ton of water and exercise I started swimming this week and along with biking and walking and a few other things I may try that is how I plan on getting my exercise. I had to order my food online today after my appointment. It should come by Friday and then I am off and running!
On a great note...I went in today dreading the scale after the holidays and to my amazement, I lost a pound over the holiday. Wow...alls I could figure was maybe my thyroid is finally kicking in because I ate some very unhealthy foods at the holiday. 1 being a big a$$ lobster on new years eve.hahaha
So bring my food mr. Mailman delivery guy..I am ready to start this journey!
