So what a day today was. WOW! I was full of anxiety all day long anticipating my doctor appointment. I am nearing the end of this wonderful diet and was just a ball of nerves knowing that today could be the day I start my transition to "real " real food. I say real food because since January 11th..the day I started this little journey, I have eaten only what was on the the plan and a small amount of salad a few times a week. I have lived on protien shakes, soups, pretzels, oatmeals, pancakes and some pastas that are very small and have something in them to resemble beef. I have had protien bars that are actually VERY GOOD! They are like a candy bar for me! :-) way to cure the sweet tooth. There were other different food items I was able to order but these were the main ones I have lived off of! The "transition" , something I have been dreaming about is basically adding a new food each week for 6 weeks and then after the 6 weeks, I meet with a dietician to make a plan for a healthy and calorie suitable diet for maitinence and continued good health. NOw although I have been dreaming of that day as the first food introduced back is MEAT! ahhh a grilled chicken breast..even a lean burger , maybe some shrimp? oh boy.....well that day has indeed arrived TODAY!!!!!! I am a nervous wreck to stop doing what I have been doing. It has worked and I NEVER WANT TO GO BACK. I am nervous about not feeling so good after eating food . I dont know...just nervous..this has become a part of my life now for just 41/2 months.
TODAY WAS MY BIGGEST WEIGHT LOSS IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD EVER! TODAY THE SCALE SMILED AT ME BIG TIME WITH A WEIGHT LOSS OF 10 POUNDS! THIS MADE ME CRY!
This Brings my total weight loss to a wopping 77.5 pounds! UNREAL is all I can say! I am just so happy and feel sooooo good! Today this feels like it all went by so fast. I KNOW that it didnt seem fast as I was going through it! I still have work to do as I go through transition. Exersise is key. That being said, the back is pretty much back to good and I can go back to the treadmill and all the other things I was doing before. I did get some exersises for the back he said I just need to do everyday!
So what can I expect during transition? Well for one I will probably gain a few pounds while re introducing food. These pounds are the water pounds you lose in the beginning so quickly. basically the body is re- hydrating even though it gets over 100 ounces of water today. yes, i do drink that much! It is habit for me now and I just have to have it with me all the time! But after that I can expect to lose around 6 more pounds he thought through out the 6 weeks. I am not gonna quit and maintain tho.. I want to keep going and stick to a low cal diet and maybe shed a bit more..believe me..there is more to go! So I am guessing it will be a 1500 calorie diet for me after the 6 weeks! I googled a 1500 menu plan for a healthy 1500 calorie diet and it looked to be a feast compared to what I have been eating! I am excited!
So today the news was good that this journey is coming to a close so to speak..the ruff stuff is over anyway!
AND ANOTHER BIG NEWS TO REPORT..MAYBE EVEN THE MOST IMPORTANT IS....
AS OF TODAY , AFTER 22 YEARS ON BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION..I AM OVER JOYED TO SAY I NO LONGER AM TAKING ANY BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION! GONE GONE GONE! THE ONLY MED I NOW TAKE IS MY THYROID MED! WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!
So today was pretty darn good ! Life is good! and to honestly think what 77.5 pounds felt like is just crazy to me....just think what might weigh that much ? so next goal ? hmmmmm 100 might be pushing it...but maybe 90 ? I will keep you all posted for sure! Thank you all for your support wether you are a blog follower or my dearest facebook friends! You have no idea the help you have been with all your cheers and well wishes for my success! I truly believe this blog has helped me through! So THANK YOU ALL!!! FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF MY HEART! XOXOXO

Speed bumps!
Back to the doctor yesterday and it was bittersweet! I will start with the sweet...
I LOST ANOTHER 9 POUNDS!! Bringing my total weight loss thus far to 67 pounds! Just 3 pounds away from my initial goal of 70 pounds!
The bitter part is a couple of things..
1. My back is out..ouch! Not sure what I actually did but Saturday after running on the treadmill I came home and didn't feel so good and it actually got worse over the weekend. So in the clinic yesterday, I had some X rays done to make sure all was ok and it was. He said I just strained my back and gave me some muscle relaxers and naproxin and vicodin if needed. He also took me off exercise for 2 weeks which really sucks because obviously that is a HUGE part of the weight loss. But I do need to heal my back so basically this is just a speed bump in this journey!
2. Yesterday I was hoping to meet my goal but came away 3 pounds shy. This would have had me starting the transition to real food. Which is a gradual introduction to real food and planning a low calorie diet with my dietician. My doctor did tell me that I could start the transition but he didn't think I would be happy. He explained that when we re introduce food that it is very normal to gain 3 to 4 pounds of water weight..like the stuff you lose fast initially. So that would have even put me farther away from my goal. I decided if i have done it this long , what's another few weeks?! I want to do this and feel good about finishing..even though the thought of some chicken just kiiiiiilllllllls me! Protien( lean meats are the first foods introduced back in the diet)
So the next few weeks will be interesting to see how I fair not exercising! I am really going to miss going to the gym. I have really come to enjoy it. I got an ipod shuffle and put some good rocking tunes on it...some times on the treadmill I just wanna dance and sing ..lmao! I need some new tunes..any suggestions guys? Hehe! I was actually pushing myself some and got up to 26 minutes running on the treadmill! I would have never believed I could do
that EVER!
On a super great note, Gerry and i booked our November vacation this week. We are so excited to be going to Mexico. We got an awesome deal at a Dreams Resort & Spa in Cancun for 8 days! I cannot wait! It will be nice to go and not feel like a big blob on the plane and quite possibly wear a swim suit and feel ok? Will never feel super great but will settle for ok.
I am very excited for a very good friend of mine is starting this diet this week! I am very excited for her and look forward to helping her along the way! This is not a life long thing..only a jump start to leading a healthy diet and lifestyle . I have heard comments from people that have said things like.." I hope she doesn't gain it back" well duh! I hope so too...if you have your mind set on good health that shouldn't happen. I am sure I will have some bad days just like everyone else in the world but hey I am here for the long haul. I don't want to go back to my old habits ..this is a new me and I am here to stay!
Happy spring(I think) ..can we please have some nice weather?
Thank you for reading my friends!
